This Saturday lunchtime Hello GoodBye serves up a three-course-meal of LIVE music!
On the menu, a starter of truly compelling acoustic and melodic beauty from This Is The Kit, a main course of improv-noise-rock mayhem from Kellar and a dessert of sweet Japanese psych-folk from Grimm Grimm.
This Is The Kit is the solo (though somewhat elastic) venture of Winchester born / Paris based artist Kate Stables. The shear beguiling soulfulness of Kate’s voice is somehow both joyous and mournful in equal measure, a glimpse of a firefly flitting from view in your periphary vision, the inevitable fleetingness of life and love. While TITK’s classic 2008 offering Krulle Bol (Microbe) was produced by the legendary PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish, her forthcoming album is currently in production with Aaron Dessner (The National) at the helm. She returns to Hello GoodBye after a period of 5 years and hot on the heels of a sold out headline show at London’s Lexington last night.
Kellar is an improvisational duo that plays experimental, noisy rock. Formed in Brighton, UK, in early 2011, the band was originally a three piece, now stripped down to the essentials – bass and drums. In the few short years since their inception, a result of bassist Dan Cross putting out a call on Facebook for anyone wanting to explore drone sounds, Kellar has self-released four full length albums (including one double album) and one EP. The albums Fulminant and, most recently, Four-Square Cipher have drawn comparisons to Skullflower, Acid Mothers Temple, PIL, and Sun Ra.
Grimm Grimm is the acid-folk solo project Koichi Yamanoha, a London-based Tokyo native and former 1/3 of cult psychedelic punks Screaming Tea Party.
With Yamanoha as the lynch pin, Grimm Grimm features a shifting line-up of collaborators that includes Le Volume Corbe and members of Chrome Hoof, Let’s Wrestle and fellow Japanese ex-pats Bo Ningen.
Packed with hooks, the Grimm Grimm sound mixes the melancholic beauty and noise of Nico, the soundscapes of Eno and the melodies of The Beatles with baroque flourishes and a passing nod the otherworldly pop sensibility of Joe Meek.
Grimm Grimm hosts the regular East London psych-folk night Myths Of The Far Future.
Tune in on 104.4 FM in Central London or on-line via Resonance FM between noon and 1.30pm (GMT).

Red Solar and Cigna Spine perform live in session this afternoon.
Delving into the roots of hard psych rock and heavy blues, Beckenham based trio Red Solar formed in early 2013. Joe Strang (Guitar/Vocals) Charlie Cox (Drums) and Ben Clements (Bass) have since been cutting their teeth on the London live scene at The Cavendish Arms, The Good Ship and most recently at The Amersham Arms at former Libertine Carl Barat’s club night.
Cigna Spine are a brand new, four piece band, based in London and featuring Cigna Spine (guitar / vocals), Michael Garrad (guitar), Jen Cardno (bass) and Milou Xrisou (drums). Blues are being sucked through a tiny vortex that has appeared on the tip of the Red Pyramid. The grand tuning chambers located inside light up, glowing with vivid, electric frequencies, igniting the ionosphere.
