HG info: 19.02.22 – ft. LOBSTERBOMB + A Cleaner’s Diary

The deXter Bentley Hello GoodBye Show on Resonance 104.4 FM. An upbeat, eclectic new music show hosted by deXter Bentley every Saturday lunchtime between midday and 1.30pm on Resonance 104.4 FM.

Today: expect to hear the remaining contributions to The Pay-As-You-Go Hello GoodBye Show 2022, my annual Resonance FM fundraising spectacular featuring music, poetry & sound-art contributed by our listenership who have purchased airtime with all proceeds going towards Resonance FM.

Also today; Glamorous punk/pop trio LOBSTERBOMB formed in Berlin just prior to the initial lock-down, the ensuing period of enforced downtime permitted the band to fully focus on the development of their sound, style and songwriting craft. Their new single ‘Sense’ is out now.

Plus; a new radio drama serialisation of A Cleaner’s Diary by Gareth Rees. Narrated by Miss Denise Harrop. Additional music by Elliot Nash. Produced by Alexander Sebley. Gareth Rees’s writings have appeared in the Guardian, Contemporary Review, No Such Thing as a Free Ride? series of travel anthologies and on BBC Radio. The son of a Welsh clergyman, Gareth Rees travelled throughout the US and Europe. Through a foundation that he suspected of being a front for MI6, he got a job on an Israeli kibbutz at the outbreak of the Six Day War. He went on to be arrested in Baghdad, work on a Libyan oil camp during the Qadaffi era and teach music at a secondary school in Gosport, before working as a cleaner at a naval base in Portsmouth. This book is a record of those times. Gareth died in Portsmouth, April 2018.

[repeated at 2.30am on Tuesday morning] Broadcast in Central London on 104.4 FM, D.A.B. in Greater London and worldwide on-line via: RadioPlayer
