Performing live on the show this lunchtime we have Ulysses Storm & Songdog.
Ulysses Storm play bombastic off-kilter twisted blues rock that respectfully kneels before the sonic overlords; Captain Beefheart, Jon Spencer, Beck and Tom Waits. U.S. frontman Michael Wetherburn is no stranger to Hello GoodBye having been a guest on a number of previous occasions with his equally ‘swerve ball’ outfit The Hellset Orchestra.
Also, Welsh & Scottish rooted Celtic folk-noir from Songdog. Lyndon Morgans, Karl Woodward and Dave Paterson combine to create soundscapes for Morgans’ vignettes on life, love and loss. The old punk spirit, realigned for modern times, remains intact in the uncompromising and explicit lyricism explored in the bands songs.
Plus, episode three of “Your Voice Travels” by Duncan McAfee. This five part mini-series explores the personal relationship with the human voice through a series of semi-autobiographical poetic vignettes laced together with original music and audio artworks.
