Atypical girl Viv Albertine was the guitarist in the original Punk-Dub trail-blazers The Slits who in recent times re-emerged from the ashes of her domestic pyre to flourish as a solo artist.
Today she joins us in the studio to discuss and read extracts from her new autobiography ‘Clothes…Music…Boys…‘ (published by Faber & Faber), a thoroughly compelling, must read tome that is brutally honest, humorous and harrowing.

Plus the usual staple of eclectic live music with Feature and King Eider live in session.

Feature started life as a two-piece in 2012 with Liv Willars on guitar and Jen Calleja on drums, but recently gained a third member in Heather Perkins on bass. They released their first EP ‘Memory’ last year on Cazenove Tapes and their new EP ‘Culture of the Copy’ just came out on Tye Die Tapes. The lyrics for the songs on both EPs are inspired by social history and theory, and their sound has been described as ‘intelli-pop’. They all have more-than-full-time jobs and two of them also play in other bands. Jen in Sauna Youth and Heather in Slowcoaches.

Edinburgh-based folk-blues band King Eider are a talented five-piece who create a modern acoustic sound using traditionalmusicianship. From the loud to the soft, the haunting to the upbeat, the harmonic strength of this band lies in their unique mix of three-part harmonies, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and classical strings.

Vibrant, melodic and often vitriolic garage pop from imminent sexagenarian Wreckless Eric.

Plus, live music from former Jesus Licks singer Dominique Golden
with her quirky and twisted modern folk.

In his thirty-seven year career Wreckless Eric has made seventeen albums and worked with, or had his songs covered by artists as diverse as The Proclaimers, Yo La Tengo, Ian Dury, Amy Rigby, The Lightning Seeds, Holly Golightly, Nick Lowe, Two Lone Swordsmen,The Pretty Things, Cliff Richard, The Monkees and Ian Hunter, to name a few.
His first record, Whole Wide World, released by the newly formed Stiff Records in 1977 was (and continues to be) a huge hit. However Eric proved to be too maverick for punk and the mainstream and all but disappeared from view, surfacing in various guises and eventually finding his place as Britain’s biggest underground household name, much loved and much misunderstood.
In 2012, the painter Peter Blake named Wreckless Eric as one of the most important pop icons of the past forty years, and included him on the remake of The Beatles Sergeant Pepper’s cover where he takes his place between David Hockney and Grayson Perry.
He recently signed to Fire Records and lives in bohemian splendour in upstate New York where he spends his time painting, writing and recording.
