The Hello GoodBye Show is an upbeat, eclectic live music show hosted by deXter Bentley every Saturday lunchtime between midday and 1.30pm on London’s only dedicated art’s radio station Resonance 104.4 FM.
Live on Saturday 27th April 2019: Wreckless Eric, Simo Lagnawi (w. special guest Soudani Boujemaa), HARRGA + Steve Rushton.
Wreckless Eric, the often caustic, sometimes cantankerous but always completely commited and creatively cogent singer-songwriter celebrating the imminent release of his excellent new LP ‘Transcience’. Eric began his recording life on Stiff Records in 1977 with his enduring hit Whole Wide World, he eventually sidestepped the mechanics of stardom to become Britain’s biggest underground household name, much loved and often underestimated.
African Moroccon Gnawa music master Simo Lagnawi, leader and ambassador for Gnawa culture in the UK returns to the show accompanied by a very special guest Soudani Boujemaa leader of Gnawa Zawia in Essaouira to perform a spiritual trance and shamanic masterclass.
Bristol based experimental noise duo HARRGA were motivated to compose music together in response to the refugee crisis. The name HARRGA means burn in the Moroccan dialect Darija and echoes “Harragas” who are the people who when crossing borders illegally have to burn their papers and lose their identity.
Plus, spoken word and chat with Steve Rushton on the eve of his joint event marking 2,000 years since the passing of the Roman poet Ovid, entitled ‘Ovid With Reverb’ – a unique event combining art, music and poetry, promoting a free online book about three unfortunate poets, taking place with a star studded cast at Hundred Years Gallery in London at 15:30hrs on Sunday 28th April.
Broadcast in Central London on 104.4 FM, D.A.B. in Greater London and worldwide on-line via: RadioPlayer
