Giant Burger and Tristan Burfield perform live in session on the show while Paul Hawkins reads from his new book Bad Santas.
Giant Burger like all good burgers are a mashed up medley of various meats, they have been reconstituted, reformed and had some artificial flavours pumped into them. They are made up of one electric guitar, one drum set, one baritone guitar and one Casiotone keyboard. They all live in East London. They make noises.
Tristan Burfield has been described by a new band a day as a modern day electro “polymath”. His music often incorporates lo-fi elements such as videogames, toys, junk, glitches and noise. His sound refuses genre and rejects lazy and outmoded cliches.
Tristan has played shows throughout the UK, and is becoming a regular staple on the festival circuit (Bring Yourself Fest, Toiletronica, Bristol Ashton Court Festival and Cambridge ‘Be sure for the song has no name’ festival). His music has recieved airplay on mainstream Radio (Radio 1, XFM, Resonance FM).
Bad Santas (and Other Creepy Christmas Characters) by Paul Hawkins offers some rather disqueiting winter folk tales for grown-ups.
A gleefully dark and well-researched exploration of the history and customs of European Yuletide folklore (Published by Simon & Schuster).
