Today: A special feature on a new once-a-month, neurodivergent cabaret night called ‘Organised Fun’, all put together by two neurodivergent performers Paul Hawkins (The Awkward Silences) and Gary Paradiso. The night will take place at Jamboree in London’s Kings Cross, with the opening night occuring on Wednesday 5th July, featuring; Pink Eye Club, Tampon Chat, Katie Overstall, The Awkward Silences and compered by Gary Paradiso. ‘Very often the rules and etiquette of live performances can be confusing for many people, especially in grassroots spaces which might have their own culture or expectations. This can mean that neurodivergent people feel unwelcome in those spaces or as though they do not belong. We wanted to create a space where we can all not belong together’ – Paul Hawkins.

Today: a special feature with Dee Byrne, a London based contemporary Jazz composer, saxophonist, promoter (LUME) and co-founder (alongside Cath Roberts) of the record label Luminous Recordings.
With her current project Outlines, Dee took a deep dive into her own process, using visual art as a medium to unlock fresh approaches to composition. The results can be heard on her latest Whirlwind Records release, and seen on the cover art. The album is a set of nine pieces for a specially assembled sextet of some of the UK’s most adventurous and genre-busting musicians.
This episode of The deXter Bentley Hello GoodBye Show was first broadcast on Resonance 104.4 FM at noon on Saturday 10th June 2023 (and simultaneously on PAWAROTA Radio in Poland).
My good friend, former co-presenter and live sound engineer Ilia Rogatchevski has slowly begun to upload an altogether random selection of old Hello GoodBye Shows from our extensive 21 year old archive.
